The Hazelton on Yorkville

At 165, 000 sq. ft, the Hazelton is Toronto's most exclusive five star hotel, setting new standards in Architectural design, detailing, including high end building envelope components. Thermal Pro Insulation was contracted to provide alternative building envelope solutions to ensure lower energy consumption, improved indoor air quality, while improving the durability and climate control of the building.

Thermal Pro's recommendations for the application of a spray applied Polyurethane foam insulation as the primary building envelope, for insulation and air barrier was well received by the owner and construction manager.

Attention to detailing of building components and application methods of sprayed polyurethane foam insulation provided by Thermal Pro was a refreshing change to standard fiberglas and mineral wool insulations, typically used behind precast panels during construction. High R value, superior air leakage control, and speed of application was of prime importance.

Housed in a nine-story building by Paige + Steele Incorporated Architects, Thermal Pro provided the building envelope insulation to the back side of the precast panels after installation of steel studs, exterior doors, and windows, mechanical and electrical components were installed.
