It provides superior air leakage control, high R value, and exceptionally low vapour permeability.
Walltite Eco has been tested and is listed by CCMC as an insulation, air barrier material, and air barrier system for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional applications. Walltite Eco can be applied above or below grade, for interior or exterior building envelope applications, including walls, foundations, ceilings, and floors.
Walltite Eco has been comprehensively tested as an air barrier system. Testing is designed to replicate real world conditions experienced during construction. The air leakage rate of Walltite Eco (25.4 mm thickness) through this rigorous testing is less than 1/10 of the rate referenced n the OBC for high humidity buildings such as pools.
Walltite Eco can be installed and left exposed to weather for up to 6 months without any significant reduction in performance. The closed cell structure of Walltite Eco makes it resistant to water absorption and the high compressive strength (29 psi) enables it to withstand mechanical abrasion and impact. CCMC testing requires a high level of exposure to heat, wet dry cycling and lateral wind loading prior to being tested for air leakage.
Walltite Eco has a long term thermal resistance (LTTR) as follows; 1.97 inches = R10.31, 2 inches = R 10.48, 3 inches = R16.46, 4 inches = R22.74. CCMC suggests a conservative value of R5.6 per inch. Walltite Eco adheres tenaciously to all typical construction substrates and readily conforms to irregular surfaces such as concrete block walls. Convection air movement is eliminated and the full R-value retained.
