CNE Automotive Building
Toronto, ON
Originally constructed in 1929 to display the latest car models to the public, the CNE Automotive Building is now being retrofitted to serve as a state of the art conference centre. Insulating this building with medium density Walltite spray applied polyurethane foam insulation was the only choice considering the building was never insulated to today´s stringent standards.
Thermal Pro has been awarded the contract to create the building envelope, insulating all existing masonry walls, including basement, first and second floor levels with Walltite spray applied polyurethane foam insulation. The insulation is applied directly to the existing block back up from the inside, between newly installed metal studs. Increased R value and air tightness of the newly installed air barrier system on this building will provide more consistent operating temperatures throughout the year.
